Negotiations Skills

[ view other seminars

Career managers, especially as they move up the career ladder, need to hone their negotiation skills. Whether competing for promotion, defending budget submissions, making the case for personnel actions, the ability to successfully "make the case," and to recognize and meet the needs of one's negotiating "partner" is a must in today's environment of dwindling resources. Experience demonstrates, for example, that Congress responds not only to the needs of Executive Branch agencies and departments, but does so in large part depending on how those organizations articulate those needs.

This course will arm you with the knowledge and practical skills to get what you need. A highlight of the course is a practical exercise in which you will be critiqued and your strengths and areas for improvement will be laid out for you.
